About

I was drawn to architecture photography while I was teaching a creative darkroom photography class at Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), an internationally top ranked architecture school in Los Angeles. The work ethic, open process, attention to detail, and the depth of critical thinking in architecture culture impressed me and instilled a search for excellence and depth in my own work.

I have worked for some of the best architecture firms in the world, and have met many of the world’s leading architects, and all of them are inspired by the making of excellent images and what it takes to do that. There’s chemistry there. It’s something that comes naturally to me and I rarely stop thinking about it for very long.

I am extremely interested in the nuances of lighting and interpretation of space and equally interested in the process after the shoot. “Retouching” doesn’t quite fit the subject. Due to technological advances in digital processes and AI what happens in post-production is faster paced and more nuanced now but it demands the same taste and discrimination as the choosing of shots, lighting, and composition. I do all my own processing and post because I believe the personal touch in the care and finishing of each image makes a difference.

I can help you get the best possible photographs of your work. I am easy to work with and willing to invite you into the selection and editing process from pre-production to finals. I’m interested in your thoughts, your creative process and your practice. Let's collaborate to create images that truly reflect the excellence of your projects. I look forward to the opportunity of working or chatting with you. Please call me at 213 804 5415 even if you only have questions about how to get something done or when it is appropriate to hire a photographer. I’m here to help.
